Mommy's Summer Bucket List

The MacKid Guide to Surviving Summer!

By Katy Agro Myers, Publisher Mom, Macaroni Kid Pasadena-Severna Park June 17, 2017

Ok, moms, we have survived the first full week of summer!  I'm not going to lie-it was a rough one here!  Not only did we start the summer with a broken wrist-we also started with a 36 hour whirlwind trip with family to PA-which means there's been tons of excitement, playing hard, exhaustion and emotions. It got me thinking about the things that I need to do for myself to survive the summer-and since "it takes a village" I thought I'd share the Summer Bucket List I made for ME!!  I'm aiming low (I mean let's face it: #momlife), so this isn't the list to end all lists-but it's a goal to set and try to accomplish!

  • Date my kids individually at least one time this summer.
  • Read a book-and actual book with pages-not on my ipad.
  • Make three New Friends-my oldest son's friends are changing as his elementary school career evolves-I'd like to get to know some of those friends' moms too!
  • Meet friends for drinks at least twice.
  • Date my husband once a month.
  • Catch a movie with a friend (and I'm not talking an animated one).
  • Get a pedicure (and turn off all electronics during it).
  • Shopping Day with my mom-we're planning on hitting the outlets all day long!
  • Send the kids to my parents or one of their aunt's house for an overnight stay.
  • Grab a show with girlfriends-we already have our tickets and I can't wait!
  • Burn some energy with a run, work out class, or just running around with my boys.
  • Throw caution to the wind-ride the rides, jump in the waves, get dirty, and laugh more.

  • Happy Summer!
