What to look for in an Early Childhood Music Program
1. The music is rich, varied, and fun with a variety of tempos, meters, and tonalities to enhance children’s music learning.
2. Classes are for mixed ages. Research indicates that young children thrive and learn best when interacting with children of different ages. The youngest children watch, imitate, and learn from the older children, while older children develop important social and leadership skills.
3. The program includes and supports parent/caregiver education and participation. Even parents with no music background can have fun dancing, singing, and playing with their children in a supportive, easy-going environment supported by the teacher.
4. Families receive a songbook and recordings each semester to support their music-making activities at home.
5. Families are encouraged to participate in music in a playful atmosphere without the pressure to perform. Children’s various learning styles and temperaments are honored. Observing is a valid way of participating in class and since movement is so important when it comes to music learning- sitting still is not required.

Meet Music Together Chesapeake Owner and Educator
Owner/Early Childhood Music Educator Mandy Stinchcomb has been leading families in music learning for 17 years. As a Certified Music Together Teacher, she is trained in tonality and singing, movement activities, classroom and song-leading skills, parent education, and early childhood music development observation. She has a passion for helping families connect through the power of music- with one another an as a community.
