I love fall! Not because my husband is able to buy anything and everything pumpkin. No, seriously, last year he bought out an entire shelf of pumpkin pancake mix from Trader Joe's! I love fall because I love how the leaves change colors. I love how cooler temperatures mean cute sweaters, jeans, and boots. And, most of all, I love how this time of year means fun, fall adventures with my 3 girls!
Some of our favorite places to visit are within an hour or so drive from Anne Arundel County. We have made it a family tradition to pick apples at Larriland Farm in Woodbine, MD. This year, we also checked out Baugher's Orchardin Westminster. Their apples (and cherries in the summer!) are delicious...and HUGE! Some were the size of a grapefruit! Apples, that is, not cherries!
We've also hosted our daughter's birthday party (3 years in a row!!) at Greenstreet Gardens in Lothian, MD. This place is nothing short of AMAZING! What you'll find at the fall festival is loads of endless fun, from face painting and cow train rides, to the pillow bounce and huge corn maze. All of this is included for one affordable price! Make sure to check out the greenhouse, too, for a spooky, haunted house!
Another fall-favorite is our annual pre-school trip to Clark's Elioak Farm located in Ellicott City, MD. The kids have a blast on the tractor ride that dumps them off in a huge pumpkin patch. Finding the perfect pumpkin is always a challenge when there are so many to choose from! They absolutely love feeding the animals and spending time jumping around the Enchanted Forest attractions before zonking out on the car ride home.
Montpelier Farms was a new pick for us this year. We visited them during the summer when things were a little slower and wanted to head there again this fall. My kids loved the go-kart track and running around the open fields. There's a groupon offer now, so why not give it a shot! You can find it here.
