Let the Magic of Fireworks Last the Whole Summer

A Note From Your Publisher

We're fresh back from a tropical vacation with family and friends and this short week has been LOOONNGGG. We're all still exhausted from travel, days in the sun, later bedtimes and playing hard.  My oldest begged me this morning to skip soccer camp, and off I sent him.  What I wanted to say was, "I get it buddy, I'm tired too, let's just stay in our PJs and watch movies all day."  But work called, soccer camp called, and we just have to keep going.  Until tomorrow.  We can have a lazy morning before our annual July 4th plans and rest up before the fun.

I love July 4th celebrations.  There's still a big part of me that loves the magic of fireworks.  The explosions of color, the pops of sound, even the smell of the smoke that sneaks up my nose without me realizing in the dark.  The excitetment of my kids sitting in my lap or hanging with their friends.  I just love that everyone gathers to watch, the 'oohs and ahhs' of the crowd and the magical show.

So in the hustle and bustle of the rest of the summer: more vacations, camps, events, and more, I'm going to try to freeze that magical feeling in my brain.  Take a mental picture, and hold onto that magic until September.  I hope you do too.

xoxo,

Katy
