Y'all, I am thrilled to share an awesome experience my family and I recently had. Earlier this month we had Quinten's birthday party at Horizon Sun Valley, and the whole process was as effortless as could be, and everyone had a great time, parents and kids included!
If you are looking for a fun, but super EASY birthday party for your kids, I have the place for you -- Horizon Movie Theaters! You get to have a private movie screening and access to their party room after. They are available at BOTH Horizon Marley Station and Horizon Sun Valley, and both are right here in Glen Burnie.

Painless Preparations
The online event registration form took no more than 2 minutes to complete, and the next day the Horizon business office emailed to confirm my reservation and gave me options of movies to choose from for our exclusive showing. Later, a few days before the party, I spoke directly with the theater to order and pay for food.
If you're like me, birthday party planning and the parties themselves are exhausting. There are so many details to think of beforehand, lots of activity during the party, corralling kids to stop and eat, etc, etc. My family always has fun at all of Quinten's birthday parties, of course, especially Quinten himself, and all make wonderful memories... BUT the whole kid birthday thing is tiring nonetheless, amiright?
However, with our party at Horizon Cinemas, I had none of these! It was the most painless planning and chilled party we've had of the nine birthday parties we have now had for him.

Holy Grail of Birthday Parties
I think I found a holy grail of kid birthday parties! Here's why:
🍿 Weekend Times Available
Birthday party times are available all during the week, including weekends. I had a choice of two times on the Sunday that we went.
🍿 Current Showings
You get to choose from a list of current releases.
🍿 Party Room
At Sun Valley, use of the party of room is included with the private screening package. We were able to bring our own decorations and set up a half hour before the movie began. And we were able to stay an hour after the movie for pizza and cake. At Marley Station, a smaller room is also available.

🍿 Food Provided
You have the option to order movie snacks for your guests ahead of time. I ordered "snack packs," which included one small popcorn, one small drink and piece of candy. The manager put them on a cart just inside the theater, so guests could conveniently pick up a snack before or during the movie.
Horizon makes pizzas onsite! We ordered pizzas to eat after the movie, which we enjoyed in the party room.
Note: the only outside food allowed is a birthday cake or cupcakes. You can also bring bottles of water.
🍿 One Set Price
You do not pay per person! For the private screening, you can invite up to 40 people, including both kids and adults.
🍿 Relaxed Environment
Maybe it's because I had had an uber busy month, but one of my favorite parts of Quinten's birthday party was how laid back the "entertainment" part of the party was--the movie! At what other birthday party you are hosting can YOU, the parent, be so relaxed?

BONUS! If you haven't been to either Sun Valley or Marley Station in a while, all of their theaters have been refurbished and ALL theaters have wonderful leather seats that recline.
