GBIA FIREWORKS - SATURDAY, JULY 3RD
Due to the Governor lifting the Emergency Order, and with a lot of scrambling to get volunteers, port-a-potties and everything else needed, we will be opening up Sawmill Creek Park (on Dorsey Road) and Third Avenue Park, for fireworks viewing. However, since our firework shells are larger this year so they can be seen from further away, the safety zone around the display have been expanded. Please know that the available viewing area at Sawmill will be smaller than past years.
Glen Burnie Improvement Association's Annual Fireworks Display
DATE OF EVENT: Saturday, July 3, 2021
Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:00 PM
RAIN DATE: Monday, July 5, 2021
LOCATION: Sawmill Creek Park on Dorsey Road
PARKING: Monsignor Slade Catholic School. Please note that once the lot fills up, access to this lot will be closed. There is no overflow parking.
HANDICAPPED PARKING, with a valid handicapped tag is available at Sawmill Creek Park
Overflow Handicapped parking (after Sawmill is full) will be at the Pascal Center at 125 Dorsey Rd.
If you park at either of these locations, you will not be able to exit the parking lot until the crowds have safely left the park.
DROP OFF AREA is at the Pascal Senior Center located beside Sawmill Creek Park, so you can drop off your family and chairs and then go park your car.
NO STOPPING ON DORSEY ROAD for drop off.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
No alcohol
No Smoking (this is an AACo Rec and Park’s policy)
No fireworks or sparklers may be brought into the park.
No Pets - please for the safety of all, especially your pet, do not bring any pets into the parks.
Additional Viewing area: 3rd Avenue Park (which can be accessed by 3rd Avenue or from Lincoln Avenue). There is no parking at this location, so please be mindful of the residents that live in this area.
FOOD is available for purchase at Sawmill at the Glen Burnie Boys Baseball concession stand.
Do not park at Cromwell Shopping Center – they will tow your car!
RAIN DATE: Monday, July 5, 2021. If fireworks are cancelled due to weather, we will post the notice on the GBIA Facebook page as soon as a decision is made.
As a reminder, our fireworks will be much higher this year, so you don’t really have to deal with the parking or the crowds at the parks. There are plenty of other places where you can still view the fireworks.
